Duckweed Farming Has a Story To Tell
August 28, 2013
There is a newspaper reporter coming to visit the ponds today for a story on duckweed farming. I’m imagining what everything looks like through his eyes- ponds full of duckweed, crazy ugly/beautiful Yaught, my centrifuge/washing machine on a pallet, a pile of slightly- experimented with plastic, pipes, and fish nets, the solar dryer and rumbling fans… It’s a world of prototypes and duckweed in various stages of dehydration. It’s a middle-aged woman with powerful vision in the ability of duckweed to remediate waste nutrient streams and provide massive amounts of plant-based proteins and starches for animals and humans alike.
Let’s just hope he misses the duckweed in my hair and is captured by the vision.
