Duckweed in the Rain
I spent an hour yesterday morning trying to get a photo of duckweed getting rained on. You’ll have to squint a bit to see the donut-shaped hole of the raindrop hitting the surface. I tried to capture the exact moment of energy conversion of a free-falling water droplet to mini wave action and its effect on surrounding duckweed. (Some may wonder why I don’t just get a real job… Some may wonder, period.) To those of you in the second category- high five! 🙂
High five buddy!!! Question for you if you…I was trying to do some research to find out the effects of rain on duckweed….i have shift 10 x 5 pond sitting also near the over hang of my roof…now when it rains is this going to be a bad thing for the duckweed inside of the pond?

Rainwater is good for duckweed, but beware that your duckweed can easily wash over the edge of the pond and you can lose an entire crop. Also, too much rainwater will dilute your nutrients and will slow growth.
