80% Done is NOT Done

September 22, 2012

Don’t know if it’s genetic, environmental, or just mental on my part, but when I get a DIY project to the 80% completion stage, I quit. I think, “oh, I’ll get around to it in a couple of days after my back/fingers/feet quit hurting or I get a few non-profit projects out the door. This has tragically resulted in a kitchen 80% done since last Christmas, walls and trim not finished out, my retaining wall not finished, the list goes on.

So, this month has been devoted to playing catch-up on all these nagging 20% left projects. The kitchen will require a month all to itself. October is going to be epic. So far, I’ve done the mantel, almost got the retaining wall done, and pulled all the materials together to knock out a bit of framing and drywall next weekend.

I’m a woman on a mission… Get out of my way or grab a hammer and help.

Hahaha, I’m the same way. I think ‘Yay! I’m almost done!’ and there it stops.
