National Duckweed Association has formed
If you’ve been following my posts, you’ll know what an advocate I am of duckweed for a wide variety of uses. During the course of my work and travels, I’ve met many researchers, advocates, and growers who understand the role that duckweed can play in our nation’s bid for sustainable living.
Recently, I was invited to join a bright, energetic group of MIT and Rutgers University students through the nonprofit, em[POWER]. We are focusing on improving the lives of the poorest of the poor who live and work in garbage dumps in developing countries. We do this through introducing these families to duckweed for purposes of remediating wastewater, serving as animal feeds, and enriching garden soil.
So… the time is now right to begin spreading the word here in our own country. It’s with great pride that I announce the formation of the National Duckweed Association. Please join our group on LinkedIn and contribute to the conversation.
We have to pay for LinkedIn. What about Facebook?
